In November 2022, TP-Link released the world's first WiFi7 router. Although WiFi7 is full of gimmicks, the price is relatively high, which also makes consumers wait and see.     Three years ago, Wi-Fi 6 technology entered the market, providing faster speeds, lower latency and improved security for many homes. Since then, a series of technological developments have made the Wi-Fi experience better. In order to solve the congestion problem of 2.4Ghz and 5.8Gh, in 2020, the Wi-Fi Alliance announced the expansion of Wi-Fi 6 from the 2.4GHz and 5Ghz frequency bands to 6Ghz , namely Wi-Fi6E, what are themain improvements of Wi-Fi6E compared to Wi-Fi6? Follow in my footsteps and let's go see it together.     Powerful 6Ghz   Wi-Fi6E has one more E than Wi-Fi6. E stands for "Extended", which means extension and strengthening. It can be seen that WiFi6E is an enhanced version of WiFi6. We can see from the following figure that Wifi 6E has new frequency:6Ghz which is added beside 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.       The 6GHz band enables higher concurrency, lower latency, and higher bandwidth, with an operating frequency range of 5925 MHz to 7125 MHz (including 7 160MHz channels, 14 80MHz channels, 29 40MHz channels, 60 20MHz channels, a total of 110 Compared with 45 channels of 5Ghz and 4 channels of 2.4Ghz, the capacity is larger and the throughput is greatly improved.   Substantially Improved Wi-Fi Speed   Wi-Fi6E brings a more efficient way to pack data, because it transmits on one signal, thus quadrupling the data rate for a given channel, thereby increasing network speed, the ideal peak rate for Wi-Fi6E Can reach 3.6Gbps.     Greatly Extend Battery Life   Each version of the Wi-Fi standard has improved the battery life of network devices. Since each version brings faster speeds, data transfers are faster and the device doesn't consume as much energy. And, Wi-Fi 6/E will further improve battery saving with a feature called Target Wake Time, it has a feature called Target Wake Time, this feature puts the device into a low power mode, these short sleep times also increase the battery life.     Even though Wi-Fi 6E has improved a lot compared to Wi-Fi 6/5 in various aspects, due to the price of the router and the limitation of network bandwidth, it will take some time for the large-scale popularization of Wi-Fi 6E devices. The mainstream transmission protocol is still Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). While major terminal manufacturers are still promoting Wi-Fi 6/5, Oflycomm quietly launched its first Wi-Fi 6E wireless module model O2066PM in early 2022, using Qualcomm's QCA2066(QCA206X) , the new O2066PM is designed in the form of M.2 2230. In addition to supporting Wi-Fi 6E, it also supports Bluetooth 5.2. It is equipped with 2x2 antennas, 2*2 TX/RX streams, supports MU-MIMO, and adds support for the 6GHz frequency band. With the official opening of MWC2022, the world's most influential mobile communication exhibition, Qualcomm launched the world's first Wi-Fi 7 solution - FastConnect 7800, which supports a peak speed of up to 5.8Gbps and a latency of less than 2ms. The public also expects to transition from the mature WIFI4 and WIFI5 to the updated WIFI6, WIFI6E and WIFI7 products to enjoy a smoother wireless experience. The distribution of the 6GHz frequency band related to WIFI in various regions of the world is also the focus of wireless-oriented people. The frequency band used by WIFI6 is the same as that of WIFI5, namely 2.4GHz+5GHz, but only supports the updated 802.11 AX protocol. WIFI6E and WIFI7 support 2.4GHz+5GHz+6GHz with tri-band at the same time. From the figure, we can see that the frequency range of 6GHz is 5.925~7.125GHz, with a total bandwidth of 1200MHz, which can accommodate 7 frequency bands of 160MHz, or 14 frequency bands of 80MHz and 60 frequency bands of 20MHz, which greatly expands the WIFI frequency band and reduces the frequency of daily WIFI. Frequency interference will decrease a lot. At present, the division of WIFI 6GHz in various regions of the world has not been completely clear. However, we can also experience better performance than WIFI4 and WIFI5 through the new protocols of WIFI6 and WIFI7. Similarly, chip manufacturers also allow users to experience better throughput performance through technical aspects. For example, Q2064PM1 designed with Qualcomm QCA206X series chips, although only supports 2.4GHz+5GHz, but through DBS (Dual-Band Simultaneous) concurrent dual-band technology, 2.4GHz+5GHz is combo, which further improves the transmission throughput.

  AR and VR have always been hot in recent years. IDC believes that the AR and VR markets will develop rapidly at a compound annual growth rate of 56% in the next five years. AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) have been hot in the market in recent years. According to the latest report from market research company IDC, the AR and VR helmet market shipments are expected to grow from 13.7 million in 2017 to 81.2 million in 2021. with a compound annual growth rate of approximately 56.1%. Products in the AR and VR markets face a serious pain point: limited mobility, and the delay problem must be solved. From the perspective of previous industry applications, WIFI5 seems to be unable to completely solve the delay problem due to the influence of its own protocol when the technology has not been iterated, and its delay is generally 30ms in the industry. But the new WIFI6/6E and the later new WIFI7 protocol can reduce the delay exponentially. Qualcomm released the new QCA2066 Wi-Fi 6E wireless chip last year, which supports VR streaming via Wi-Fi and achieves "VR-Level latency", providing a solid foundation for this fast-growing industry segment. O2066PM module is based on Qualcomm QCA2066 chip design, fully supports WIFI6E protocol, 160M bandwidth, theoretical 3Gbit/s transmission rate, supports DBS stacking technology, and its support for 6G frequency band is a sharp tool to solve interference and delay. In traditional tethered mode, the VR headset has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels per eye and a refresh rate of 75 Hz. It either supports 2560 x 1440 pixels per eye at 120 Hz. Under the updated demand, 1080p and 4K can no longer meet the demand, and 8K is the trend. The measured throughput of O2066PM is 2.1Gbit/s, which greatly supports the demand for high-standard applications.
